How we review casinos
Methodology last updated: 27 June 2026
JackpotHrone uses a consistent editorial framework to assess UK-licensed online casino operators. Scores are internal editorial ratings on a 5-point scale, not user review averages.
Eligibility
Only operators holding an active remote casino, bingo or combined licence from the UK Gambling Commission are considered. We verify licence status on the UKGC public register before listing any brand.
Scoring criteria
| Criterion | Weight | What we assess |
|---|---|---|
| Licensing & transparency | 25% | Valid UKGC licence, clear licence holder disclosure, accessible terms |
| Game variety | 20% | Range of slots, table games and live dealer content from recognised providers |
| Payments | 15% | Supported UK payment methods, stated withdrawal processes |
| Mobile experience | 15% | Responsive site or app usability on common devices |
| Customer support | 10% | Availability and clarity of help channels |
| Safer gambling tools | 15% | Deposit limits, reality checks, self-exclusion and GamStop integration |
Ranking and commercial relationships
Editorial scores determine our written assessments. Commercial affiliate relationships may affect visual prominence (e.g. "Top Pick" placement) but operators without a valid UKGC licence are never listed regardless of commercial terms.
Updates
Reviews are re-checked periodically. Dates shown on comparison tables indicate the last editorial review. Offers, game libraries and licence status can change — always confirm current details on the operator website.
